But go and learn what this means:’ I DESIRE MERCY AND NOT SACRIFICE’. For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance [Matthew 9v13]
No matter how hard we try or grow spiritually, we will never grow pass the mercy of God. James says, “We all stumble in many ways” (see James 3v2) so God also says, “My mercy will be for everlasting” (see Psalm 100v5). We are all mercy made.
Some time back, a friend called to check on me and asked what I was doing and I said: “I am watching Emmanuel TV”. The words that ran from the other end of the phone were, "have you also been deceived by this man”? (referring to T.B Joshua), so we started a constructive debate.
He asked, “Do you think God will heal people who go around sinning just by meeting a man of God”? I said, why not!! Some people think, once someone sins, God immediately strategizes to pay them back. God is not picking up on you!! He desires to show you mercy if you will count on it.
People have awkward ideas about God which are fictitious. When people find themselves in some impediment, they think its God picking upon them. He is not; He is longing to show you His mercy if you will count on it. All the mighty men of God (Abraham, David, Peter) we read about from the bible are all mercy made. If you have sinned, God says come home wai. He longs to show you His mercy.
